WEEK SEVEN

Monday, 30th December

The tube bender arrives on hire, and we attempt to bend the high tensile steel tube required for the cab roll over bar, as a test. This goes wrong, and just flattens the tube instead of bending it. So - we get stuck on this job as well. The part-time welder can't come in due to family at home Christmas pressure. So still major problems and nothing seems to be going right…

Until…., I receive a surprise phone call on Thursday from a guy called Pavrotti, who has heard on the grape-vine that that we are building a new Race Truck, and we may need a hand!

My prayers have been answered in one phone call! Pav is an old hand at building Race Trucks, and has been on teams such as Caterpillar, and mechanic and truckie for Steve Parrish and his BP Mercedes Supertruck in the past, and, also built my faithful Volvo White many years ago. I asked Ben if he needed Pav's help, and we both said, at the same time "Yes - Please!"

Building a new Truck on time is one thing, but building a winning one is where Pav comes in! So we bit the bullet, and took him on. He starts next week, and we've put all our build plans and problems on hold until he arrives!

Will it all come together in the next 13 weeks??
