WEEK FOUR
Monday, 9th December
I receive one application for the mechanics job, so ask the guy to come along and meet us. The new rear axle goes off to the engineering shop, for modifications to marry up to the ERF rear road springs.
Our part-time welder/fabricator has come to work on her for the first time on Saturday morning.
The steel has arrived for the cab rollover bar, the chassis - under frame, front, rear and side guard tubular construction.
Things are starting to move on at a quicker pace.
The new mechanic comes on Saturday, and we take him on to start 02/01/03
By Sunday evening the fabricator had modified the cab floor plus the interior rear parcel shelf, to take my seat, and the cab rollover bar cornerlegs.
Ben's got the old ERF rear axle out and added to the pile outside, with the rear of the chassis held up by two x axle stands.
End of week four, and it's the 16th December already! 16 weeks to completion date (Still iffy to finish on time!)
